MESSAGE FROM DR MAHINDA RAJAPAKSA, MEMBER OF THE SRI LANKAN GOLF SOCIETY UK
It gives me great pleasure to send this message on the occasion of the inaugural PETERITE GOLF CLASSIC(PGC 2012) organized by the : St Peters College Old Boys’ Union of Washington DC and the dinner dance.
The St Peter’s Old Boys Union of Washington DC is unique, in that is one of the few Sri Lankan Old Boys Unions that truly represents old boys of Sri Lanka, cutting all barriers such as ethnicity, religion and social background. At a time when Sri Lanka is struggling to heal old wounds,as caring SriLankans, we are hopeful that you can lend your support towards these noble causes such as funding for CAREER GUIDANCE CENTER at St Peters College Colombo Sri Lanka, Paediatric Cancer Hospital Jaffna Sri Lanka and funding of the locally based National Foundation for Facial Reconstruction.
Let me take this opportunity to particularly salute the many among you, who have volunteered their time and hard work to make this inaugural PETERITE GOLF CLASSIC TOURNAMENT 2012, as well as your social activities this weekend and hope that you will continue to raise funds,as you have done in the past, to support these worthy causes in the future.
Sincerely yours,
Mahinda Rajapaksa

To initiate support for worthwhile projects of this nature elevating the standards especially for improved health care and career guidance opportunities for students are hugely admirable particularly in the context of not forgetting one's own nation as well as your alma mater whilst being overseas.
Such contributions collectively will enable a positive change that we all aspire to achieve for the greater well-being of our people.
